Did you know that almost 70% of the money that you pay for something at Starbucks is straight profit for them? Excluding the amount that they pay to their employees of course.

Starbucks is a great company to work for, I have been there for three years, whilst studying and they pay alot to their employees. How can you say that 70% goes straight to them?! Thats nothing but a fabricated lie, without any compounding evidence. I have worked in other places, and no where else has there been such a sense of appreciation. I feel like Starbucks is my second family. My store has done many things for our local community, and for charity, Starbucks is not just about making profit. We give up our free time to hold coffee mornings at local schools, help out at school fairs, parents evenings and decorate charity offices and pay for their furnishings with the money the company gives us to donate. This is just what one store does, imagine what every store all over the world does? Not to mention what Starbucks does for the coffee growers and farmers and their communities, such as building schools, installing irrigation systems and much much more. You can’t just penalise Starbucks for making profit, isn’t every company out to do the same?
Next time get the facts, from someone who actually knows, not some website.

Mr. Man: Nothing wrong with making money. Plus, 70% of anything before paying wages is never considered profit. Defeats the definition of the word.
Shudda wudda cudda: you can come work for me for free all you want, and I’ll give you some free stuff to give to the community with my company’s name all over it, too. Nothing wrong with helping communities out, but just remember they do that mostly for the PR and use their people as the tools they are.

If I enjoy doing it and want to help, I don’t see the problem. There are plenty of ways to get PR and charitable giving/volunteering is the best I have heard yet. I wouldn’t work for someone who calls people tools, how very dare you.

I think you’re the reason phrases like “adult child” exist.
